Blaine Tomlinson, Chairman
Blaine Tomlinson, Chairman FRM Group, founded FRM in 1991. He is responsible for developing corporate strategy and working with key clients and hedge fund managers. Blaine is a member of FRM’s Global Advisory Committee and is on the board of FRM Holdings Limited. Blaine is also chairman of the FRM Capital Management Limited Board, the investment manager seeding vehicles advised by FCA. In this role he is part of the investment manager’s team that reviews the FCA investment proposals for investment by the Fund.
Previously, Blaine was Director and a Board Member of AIG Financial Products Group, where he was responsible for establishing, building and managing the European business, and an Executive Director at Nomura International Limited, where he established a swap and new products group. Blaine holds an MBA and a degree in Economics (Hons) from the University of Cape Town, and a Bachelor of Economics from Rhodes University.
Clive Peggram, CEO
Clive Peggram joined FRM in September 2006 with a mandate to research, evaluate and plan a seed investment business model within the FRM group. Clive is CEO of FRM Capital Advisors Limited.
Clive has over 25 years of experience in financial derivatives, hedge funds and private equity. He brings considerable management experience to FCA previously having been a chief executive, partner and global business head in his former roles. In 1999 Clive co-founded Comvest Limited, a privately held private equity fund, during which he established and ran, as CEO, e-San Limited, one of Comvest’s investee companies. He was also a board member of several other companies established by Comvest. Clive is also Chairman of the Board of Alfieri Investors Limited, an Italian private equity fund, consistently ranked as one of the most successful funds of its peer group
Prior to this Clive was a Managing Director at AIG Financial Products Corp., where he established AIG-FP’s investment management business and was responsible for Asset & Liability Management. He was Chairman of the Asset-Liability Committee, Head of Investment Portfolio & Credit Trading, the Bank of England Representative when at Banque AIG and a member of the parent company’s credit committee. Clive was at AIG F-P for over 10 years. Prior to this Clive worked in a number of different roles, gaining considerable experience of the developing derivative markets at Swiss Bank Corporation International, First Interstate Capital Markets and Continental Illinois Limited

Neil Mason, CIO
Neil Mason joined FRM in November 2006 to research, evaluate and plan the FCA business. Neil is the Chief Investment Officer of FRM Capital Advisors Limited.
Previously, Neil was Chief Executive at BlueCrest Capital Management, responsible for business and capacity development, trader management and risk management, having joined the business as a portfolio manager.
Prior to that, Neil was Head of European Interest Rate Trading at Bank of America in London with responsibility for the trading businesses for European Government Bonds and Repo, Swap and Swap Derivatives, Interest Rate Structured Products and the Proprietary Desk. He was also a member of the European Global Markets Management Committee. Before joining Bank of America, Neil spent over 12 years at JP Morgan in a variety of trading and trading management roles. Between 1989 and 1993, Neil traded the swap and swap derivative books for a number of different European currencies, including the Deutschemark swap and option book.
Between 1993 and 1996, Neil co-managed the European interest rate trading business, with specific responsibility for core European currencies. This included the interest rate derivative and government bond trading businesses in London, Brussels and Frankfurt. Between 1996 and 2000, Neil ran the Emerging Market Derivative Trading Business in London, with trading responsibility for local market derivatives, index products and external debt derivatives.
Neil gained a Scholarship to University College, Oxford from which he holds a Batchelor of Arts degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
Patric de Gentile-Williams, COO
Patric de Gentile-Williams joined FCA in August 2007 as Chief Operating Officer to focus on assisting new managers in establishing their businesses.
Previously, Patric was Chief Executive Officer of PCE Investors Ltd, a European based Hedge Fund Platform. As founder of the business, Patric was responsible for business strategy, manager assessment and selection as well as risk management and day to day implementation of the company’s business plan. From Launch in Jan 2004, PCE grew to $1bn AUM spread across 16 Hedge Funds.
In August 2000 Patric became a partner and Chief Operating Officer of Liquid Capital, a derivatives market making company where he established the infrastructure of the firm. Prior to this, in 1997, Patric was CEO of TARMS an Australian software company specialising in Fixed Income and FX trading and risk management systems.
Following a brief period as Chief Executive Officer of CSFB UK Ltd between 1991 and 1992, Patric was a Managing Director of Banque Indosuez, responsible for helping transform the European Equity division from a research driven agency business to a full derivatives operation. This involved establishing the Listed and OTC Options Trading desk, the Warrant and Convertible Arbitrage desk and the Stock Index Arbitrage Books in Europe. He was also responsible for establishing a sales team to market these desk products to institutional and corporate clients.
Patric began his career in 1984 as a Trainee Equity and Derivatives Trader with Morgan Grenfell Securities. In 1987 he became Senior Executive for James Capel & Co, where he was responsible for creating several trading and derivative businesses for the company.
Patric studied Engineering and Mathematics at Cambridge and London Universities.
John Aves
John joined FRM in 2003 and has over 10 years of investment management industry experience. As a member of the Business Risk Group, he built a detailed understanding of the operational environment of hedge funds and best practice in all aspects of their activities including business structure, valuation, administration, trade controls, financial reporting and compliance. Prior to moving to FCA John led a team focusing on internal fund structuring, risk assessment and coordination of new products.
Previously to FRM John was a manager at the financial services firm, Deloitte & Touche where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant specialising in the investment management industry, specifically hedge fund and private equity groups along with internal controls reporting.
John holds a Batchelor of Science in Mathematics from Durham University
Barry Thomas
Barry has over 4 years of experience in the hedge fund industry, having joined FRM in 2003. As a member of FRM’s Investment Research team, Barry has worked on a range of strategic investment research projects.
Barry has a detailed understanding of the range of hedge fund strategies, and the environmental and economic factors to which they are exposed. He also has significant knowledge of proprietary quantitative and risk management tools for hedge fund analysis, and his roles have involved liaising closely with portfolio managers, risk management and quantitative research teams, and manager research analysts.
Previous responsibilities included the management of FRM’s Investment Pool of hedge funds, capacity management, and the specification and development of new systems to support the investment process.
Previously, Barry was a lecturer in Economics at Royal Holloway, University of London, and holds a BSc in Mathematical Economics and a PhD in Economics from the University of Birmingham.
